Inaugural NYC Celebration of Fred T. Korematsu Day

On Tuesday, January 30, we celebrated the inauguration of “Fred T. Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution” in New York City. Panelists included Karen Korematsu (Founder and Executive Director, Fred T. Korematsu Institute, and the daughter of the late Fred T. Korematsu), Daniel Dromm (Council member, New York City Council), Debbie Almontaser (Founding Principal, Khalil Gibran International Academy), Julie Azuma (Vice President, Japanese American Association of New York), and youth from the Asian American Student Advocacy Project. The discussion was moderated by Rocky Chin (Founder, Asian American Bar Association of New York).
