APANO is excited to sponsor a Portland Hapa Tour, an interactive
afternoon of photography, dialogue and community education on issues
of race and mixed race identity from an Asian Pacific Islander
perspective. We are partnering with the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center to
host a special APANO-only reception and viewing of the “Part Asian,
100% Hapa” exhibit by artist Kip Fullbeck from 3:00 to 4:30. In “Part
Asian, 100% Hapa” Fullbe…ck has paired portraits of mixed race
individuals from around the country with their personal response to
the frequently asked question “what are you?”. The reception includes
a presentation with Professor Patti Duncan of Oregon State University.
Suggested Cost: $7.00 covers exhibit entry fee and reception (online
in advance or at the door with RSVP)
Register online at www.apano.org or contact Anna Nakano-Baker at
971-340-4861 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Following the tour, join us for a free panel discussion….
