“New Works – Artquakes”
|Nina Kuo’s Paintings pay homage to transcending architectonic symbols with geometric and exaggerated forms that merge into mythical compositions. Created multi-colored facades, highways, ramps, tunnels, trains and encampments are journeys that are projected into an articulated culture. These shapes offer universal themes with exploding landscapes in industrial environments or from hi-tech influences. These abstractions and figures retreat into juxtaposed global experiences exploiting nature’s resources while honoring anachronistic views of lost dioramas. See surreal mountains, waterfalls, or highways that are dizzy structural formations. Floating abstractions sometimes present an Asian spirit of an illusionary zone for our man-made deconstructivist urbanality.
Recent artquakes are illusionary compositions seen in my paintings, drawings, sculptures, video and artist books. Permanent collection of Brooklyn Museum, MOMA,Chicago Art Institute Library, Smithsonian Inst., Biblioteque Nationale.
