The Tamiment Library & Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives Collection of Japanese American Newspapers contains 18.6 linear feet of publications from fifteen different Japanese American newspaper titles dating from 1946 to 2014. The collection includes extended runs of Hokubei Shimpo and New York Nichibei, as well as short runs of regional papers and international editions of Japanese newspapers from the late twentieth century.

The material in this collection offers insight into the concerns of the Japanese American community, ranging from civil rights to LGBTQ and women’s rights. The publications are sourced from the Kida Collection, the Takako Wada Papers, and a donation from Stan Kanzaki.
