Beatrice Glow returns from Rhun, a volcanic Indonesian island in the Banda Sea, to present her final public program as the A/P/A Institute Artist-in-Residence. During her residency, Glow investigated the social history of plants via spice routes and botanical expeditions, focusing on the historical relationship between two islands on opposite sites of the world: Mannahatta and Rhun. The islands, which were traded by the British and Dutch during the 17th century spice wars, are connected by both a botanical and colonial legacy. Glow shares her findings and the immersive tech experiences she is creating in collaboration with Highway 101, ETC as part of her ongoing, multi–platform project Rhunhattan.
