Architecture And China: A Conversation With Ou Ning And Cao Fei

Join us for an intimate discussion with renown multimedia artists and researchers Ou Ning and Cao Fei in conversation about their joint filmic work The San Yuan Li Project that was showcased at the Venice Biennale. The film documents the evolving landscape of Guangzhou in an increasingly urbanized China. The two live and work in Guangzhou and headed up Alternative Archive, a platform for various cultural practices in Southern China. In 2006 Cao Fei won the Best of Young Artist Award of Chinese Contemporary Art Awards (CCAA) 2006.

People’s Architecture was founded on October 1st, 2005 in Beijing, China. A non-profit organization headquartered in New York City with a regional office in Beijing, People’s Architecture is a multi-disciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas, with the goal of facilitating a better global understanding of China’s architectural, infrastructural, cultural and economic development. People’s Architecture brings together perspectives from a range of disciplines–from design to linguistics to social science–in a series of public lectures, publications, exhibitions, and collaborative projects.
