The tremendous interest in the relationship between human rights and literature has given rise to what is now a vibrant field of literary and cultural studies. This conference, organized by Crystal Parikh (NYU Departments of English and Social & Cultural Analysis) will bring together scholars whose work has been vital in the development of the field, shaping central questions, themes, and methods for understanding both the disciplinary specificities and interdisciplinary possibilities that inhere in this line of inquiry.
