The New York City Asian American Student Conference (NYCAASC) is a student run intercollegiate organization dedicated to addressing issues pertinent to Asian/Pacific/Americans on local, national, and global scales. Organized by a committee of representatives from colleges around the city, NYCAASC provides an accessible space every April for activists and student leaders to engage in dialogue on racial and sociopolitical matters. Featuring interactive workshops alongside local and nationally based speakers and performers, the conference is structured to encourage solidarity and initiative both within the community and beyond. This year’s conference will feature our keynote speaker Gary Okihiro, the founding director of the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University, and a performance by MC Jin, a hip-hop aritst, television host, and actor. Complimentary breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.
Registration is free. If you are interested in attending, you can register now at http://nycaasc.com/register.html.
