There Is Still Singing in the Afterlife
- Organizer: Radix Media
- Venue:
- Address: New York, NY United States
Presented by Radix Media. Co-sponsored by the Asian/Pacific/American Institute at NYU.
This event will celebrate the launch of poet JinJin Xu‘s (MFA Creative Writing Candidate, NYU) debut chapbook, There Is Still Singing in the Afterlife (Radix Media, 2020) with a virtual reading. Xu’s collection of poetry was chosen as one of the winning manuscripts of the debut Own Voices Chapbook Prize.
An elegiac illumination of personal and political histories misremembered and censored, There Is Still Singing in the Afterlife is animated by the intimate language of spirits—living, loved, and gone—singing to us from the hereafter.
The event will feature Xu alongside artists Anne Carson and Robert Currie, and performances by Aria Aber (Hard Damage) and writer and critic Yanyi.
Accessibility note: This event will be hosted virtually on Zoom. A Zoom account, internet access, and a smartphone or computer is required. Please contact info@radixmedia.org or (718) 781-5947 with any questions or access needs.
