Hua Hsu will be pursuing a new project on a community of Asian diasporic artists who worked in New York between the sixties and the nineties. 

Hua Hsu is a staff writer at the New Yorker and a professor of literature at Bard College. He is the author of A Floating Chinaman: Fantasy and Failure Across the Pacific (Harvard University Press 2015) and Stay True: A Memoir (Doubleday 2022), which received the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. He serves on the board of Critical Minded, an initiative focused on resourcing and raising the visibility of critics and writers. He publishes “Magazines,” a newsletter about the cultural history of magazines, and “Suspended in Time,” a series of zines about music and life.
