Congratulations to the J-Term 2021 C.V. Starr Fund for A/P/A Research Awardee!

Margaret Guzman (undergraduate student, NYU Global Liberal Studies ’21) will direct and edit her documentary thesis film, Live at Gotham: FIlipinx Identity through Performance. Live at Gotham explores the ways New York City Filipinx communities use performance to articulate racial identity and diasporic politics. Guzman will interview members of the Filipinx artistic collectives and organizations Arkipelago (1993-2007) and Kinding Sindaw, among others.

 

The C.V. Starr Fund for Asian/Pacific/American Student Research is available by application to NYU students and scholars working on academic and/or community projects with particular emphasis on the New York metropolitan region. The goal of this Fund is to promote a convergence of theory and practice in A/P/A Studies and its related fields by providing financial support for research expenses and/or conference participation.
