Mele Murals: Post-screening Conversation

Mele Murals is a documentary about the transformative power of art. At the center of this story are renowned graffiti artists Estria Miyashiro (aka Estria) and John Hina (aka Prime), and a group of Native Hawaiian youth in the rural community of Waimea, Hawaiʻi.  On April 27, 2017, we hosted a screening and special talkback with director Tad Nakamura, Noelani Goodyear-Kaʻōpua (University of Hawaiʻi, Mānoa), Dean Saranillio (NYU Department of Social & Cultural Analysis), and Kevin Fellezs (Columbia University).
