Dr. Jack G. Shaheen (1935-2017) dedicated his life and career to identifying and contesting damaging stereotypes of Arabs and Muslims in US media. His research analyzed the origins of these visual caricatures, explained their stubborn persistence, revealed their very real ramifications, and presented solutions to counter them effectively.
